Robin Hoag

My name is Robin Hoag. Twenty-three (23) years ago, my close friend Ken Kokko, President/CEO of Detroit Tube Mill, sponsored me to join Huron River Hunting and Fishing Club. My wife Catherine and our family have a wonderful history at Huron River Club spanning 28 years (family Dinners, holiday events and corporate events), thanks to invites from our sponsor Ken Kokko and his wife Ruthann prior to becoming members.

Beginning as an entrepreneur, my career path prepared me to lead innovative financial, audit and consulting teams for 35 years as Director and Shareholder at Doeren Mayhew, CPA and Consultants. My scope of responsibility was the National Practice Leader of the DM Financial Institutions Group. My professional designations include CPA, CGMA, CMC.

I am married to an amazing lady, Catherine Bruder. We have five children: Christopher, Kristyn, Corrine, Matthew, Jacquelyn and six grandchildren. Catherine worked professionally in a variety of fields including medical, education, public accounting, IT consulting and cybersecurity. Catherine professionally holds a CPA, CISA, CITP and CISM certifications. Catherine was responsible for Technology Assurance & Security Groups delivering IT Security, SOC services, Cybersecurity, network security design and testing.

My increased time and passion is allocated between family, great friends, HRC, aviation, golf, red wine, quality cigars, scuba and travel. My aviation interests as a pilot cover a gamut from single engine aircraft to twin engines, instrument (IFR), high-performance and commercial ratings.

Our Board has created their excellent vision of HRC through extensive, positive collaboration with shared ideas. My contribution to the board, if elected, will leverage my 39 years of diverse knowledge including, not for profits, financial institutions, restaurants, and technology companies. Background experience in these sectors is comprehensive with expertise in strategic planning, marketing, sales, finance, accounting and board collaboration (over 100 diverse client boards). As a board member, my goal is to honor HRC traditions, collaborate creatively with current board members, craft methods to attract the next three generations ensuring long term sustainability.

Catherine and I have been blessed with amazing friends here at HRC like David & Karen Birdsall, Barrie & Toni Armstrong, Mark & Kathy Tuttle, Diane & Steve Hoelscher, Keith & Karen Blazaitis, Lee & Tim Flaherty and Bob & Marilyn Hart to name a few.
